How do you maintain balance with work and life?
It is not easy. I sometimes mark time on my calendar to insure I stop and let my brain shut down. And I have to remind myself to say 'no' to people sometimes because I always want to help.

What is the best business advise you've ever gotten?
Look locally before trying to attract the entire world. Local people will have the comfort of knowing that you are nearby.

What is your background in terms of the services you provide?
I spent 18 years doing computer programming and systems design; 9 years doing administrative & office support; worked in direct selling, published a book and I am an actress.

What makes your business stand out from others?
Our goal is to provide relief for overwhelmed people conveniently, affordable and eco-friendly. No job is too small and we have flexible hours. Our support for individuals and small businesses is done remotely via the internet and locally onsite, if necessary. If you are not sure what you need, I will help you figure it out. We are expanding our team to be able to provide a wider variety of services in one stop.

FG: I just went out on own this past January.  Prior to that I had a marketing business with a partner and had been an independent marketing consultant for five years after leaving the world of being an 'employee.'

FG: Referrals, getting my name out there .. I know I need to attend meetings and get involved with the organization.

FG: Networking has been best, followed by colleagues while I was in previous positions and a MasterMind Group of which I'm currently a member.

FG: Not yet ....I am thinking of niching 'client appreciation marketing' and writing articles on this important topic.

 

What is the best business advise you've ever gotten?
FG: Planning and scheduling!

 

What is your background in terms of the services you provide?FG: I have over 25 years of sales, marketing and event planning experience and possess outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.  I'm a creative problem solver with excellent organizational and time management skills plus a strong ability to multi-task and consistently stay within budget.

FG: Fogelson Group provides marketing services for small businesses.  As a small business owner myself, I understand the needs of small companies.  I've always been a 'people' person and believe relationships and how one treats others is as important in business as our personal lives.  Therefore, I believe in and am intrigued by the power of client appreciation marketing, referral campaigns and recognition and am focusing on helping small business owners in this area.

I am interested in meeting new people who I can make professional business connections to enhance each others business.  I am seeking ways to increase my company's exposure and referral base.

I agree, building professional relationships is an effective way to help grow your business, I would suggest making business commitments is another effective way to grow your business, in other words being consistent.

Have you been published in journals or other publications? If so, in which ones and on what topics(s)?
Yes, I have been published in Westchester Magazine in an article about philanthropy.  They was covering a story about small business owners who give back to the community and I had supported the community with organizing a kids coat drive for the holidays.

How do you maintain balance with work and life?
Maintaining balance with work and life can be very difficult. When I started my business I was so focused on working I neglected to enjoy life everything was about business.  But for the past few years I have come to realize that I have to include time to do other things that I enjoy and the way I do that is to set aside the time.

What is the best business advise you've ever gotten?
The best business advice I've gotten was from myself, "To Just Do It".  Our fear and hesitations stops us from knowing and I've learned to just do whatever I set myself to do and hope for a great result and if it doesn't turn out the way I want, don't give us, just try a different way.
